Well, bellow bloggers, my blog comes to an end after today. I will hopefully soon have attached my TED Talk.
As a whole, I believe my project was both successful and and non successful. It was successful as I met new people, expanded my horizons a little, learned about myself and work, and it also gave me a feel for what it's like to interview people. It was not successful in terms of not being something that I can say was very very fun. I wanted to do something I could enjoy, and I'm not sure if this was something I fully enjoyed. But it was a great learning experience, as I now know that I don't want to be a person who writes biographies. The most meaningful part of the project to me was getting to know Mr. Jenkins. He indeed has a lived a simple and interesting life. His experiences and his stories will forever remain wi me, as part of something I've now learned. His view on being able to come back stronger from whatever the world put in front of him is something that I can build off of to help myself when I fall. With this, I sign off fellow bloggers.

Well, fellow bloggers, I finally interviewed the veteran. His name is Larry Jenkins. He was born in the 1920's and by 1936 he had entered Lakeview school. He graduated in 1942, and decided to join up with the the Air Corp. (Air FOrce). He did this because he had a great liking for airplanes, and he also did not want to be running through the mud on the ground with bullets running by him. He flew many missions and was eventually shot down over Austria. I interviewed him and taped the whole thing. By next week I'm hoping to have the memoir written about him.
Well, I have some work to do, so until then! Well my fellow bloggers, I'm coming to realize that patience is indeed a virtue. I will hopefully not have to wait much longer to to hear back from the activities director. I believe I face two choices: to either abandon the project if I don't get a reply, or to visit the retirement home again to see if the vet is available. And if not I will have to wait. For this week I will investigate how I want to write my memoir about the vet.
Hopefully more interesting things will happen for next week. Until then fellow bloggers. Hello fellow bloggers!
This last week I contacted the activities director of the retirement home. She responded to me telling me that she would speak with the Vet to determine a date that would work for the interview. She did not get a chance to get back to me in time, as next week I will be leaving for a competition out of the state. But I will still remain in contact with her, to determine a date as soon as possible to be able to interview the Vet. Until two weeks from now fellow bloggers! Hello fellow bloggers!
This week I sent an email to the activities director of the Retirement Home, asking to see the Vet before my trip to Florida this coming week. She responded, but not with specific dates, so I'm now going to have to wait until when I come back...again. But this isn't bad, as it will allow me to work on patience. Until next week! Hello fellow bloggers!! I have very exciting news for you guys this week! I was able to finally go into the retirement home, and I was able to talk with the Activities Director. It appears I'll be contacted by her after she has spoke with the veteran to set a date I can come and interview him. I'm hoping it can happen very soon! I feel like I have a learned something valuable right now, I should have pushed to go earlier, as I didn't out of fear of not nothing what I was going into.
Until next week fellow bloggers! Well, my fellow bloggers, I hopefully have a set date to visit the vet and try to find him. It is Thrusday of this coming week, March 16. I want to get to the brink of my project already! It has been an exciting experience so far to get here, with me learning new things every Innovation hour we have.
well bloggers that's all for this week, so keep it classy. While not being able to get my interview yet with the vet, I have been able to get tips on the questions I'll be asking him from my expert. I interviewed Mrs. Mullis. She is a journalist and she has a section in the paper. She has had plenty of experience interviewing people, and so I was able to draw a lot from my chat with her. She recommend I "grow up" the vet in mind with the questions to understand his life story.
I keep learning with this project as this shows. Even though the tips I learned this week may not look like they'll help me in life, I think they will. I believe that every single thing we pick up along our journey in life can help us to prepare for the next thing flung at us. In this case, it'll help me to talk to people, to think what is important to pick up from people. Well my fellow bloggers, take care till next week! Another roadblock was hit, this time, one couldn't really be prevented. There was a sickness going around the school, and so school was cancelled on the day I was to interview the vet. I, hoping to reschedule for this week. My passion for the project that began to develope before Christmas is growing and growing, and I am hoping that the interview wil help me to keep growing in it. I cannot say I have learned many lessons because I feel like I have not been able to fully begin my project. I believe I have grown in ways of researching, after having to search for the plane of the vet. Although I didn't come up with it, but I learned certain ways of researching.
Well, fellow bloggers, a change in plans has occurred. This week I was sick for four days, including the day when I was going to go in to interview the vet. I hav talked with my principle since I have been feeling better, and I will be able to go on Thursday of this week. I still don't have the papers pre filled out yet and will work on that this week.
Hopefully I will come back to you guys next week with an accomplished interview. |
