Hello fellow bloggers!!
Since last week many interesting things have happened. The activities director from the retirement home left me a message which is still pending a response. She let me know that I can call her to set up an interview, as the vet consented and would be glad to have me! This project is nearing its peak and I'm glad to get there! I'm very excited and have the questions I will ask him already set up. Until next week fellow bloggers! Enjoy your spring break

This semester I did not happen to have too many art skills that improved, but one that did was my creativity. When I first entered the art room at the beginning of the semester I thought I was pretty creative. But then my teacher said that I could do what ever I wanted. And that was new to me. And it really got to me. And I started to realize that coming up with something that I wanted to do, something that I felt a passion for was something I needed to learn to do. And I think that as the semester went on and my stadium progressed, I managed to do just that. The new skill I learned this semester in the end was to be creative about passions I have. To improve more I probably could worked harder at some times, instead of getting a little side tracked.
The vision for this project came from my love of soccer. When I visited Germany on a summer trip, and I saw the Alianz Arena, I was amazed. The Alianz Arena is home to one of the best soccer clubs in history, Bayern Munich F.C. They have won 5 European league cups, and have for the last 4 seasons won the German Bundesliga. They supplied 9 players for the 2014 World Cup National team for Germany. One of their players scored the final goal vs. Argentina in overtime to win it. When I entered the art room I thought for a couple of days on what I wanted to make, and suddenly I thought about building a stadium based off the design of the Alianz Arena.
My first step in building the stadium was looking at the overall design of the Arena and and deciding what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to take out. I decided on keeping the idea of the outside "bubble" type shell and placing it over a wooden board. So after deciding on the dimensions of the board I wanted, I set up a frame with wooden sticks. Then I used metal wire to wrap around the sticks in order for bubble wrap to actually make the bubble shaped form shell around the stadium. Then after wrapping it I installed a piece of green carpet for the field in the middle of the shell and painted the field on it. I then used egg cartons and styrofoam to build the stands. I learned from this was that some projects can look like less in the beginning but can end up taking longer than you thought. I did not expect my stadium to take as long as it did, but in the end I am happy with the result and the end product. |
